Posted by Micah Nellums on 5/3/2020 6:00:00 PM

Please read the following attachment for a complete Weekly Update.

Hopefully, you guys have been staying safe and healthy during this time. Just like last week, students can join Teams from 1-1:30 to ask questions or request one on one teams through Calendly from 1:45-3. To ensure students are doing their check-in, I will start integrating a weekly Flipgrid question for students. This is not optional. This week's question is "How are you practicing self-care?" During times like this is important for us to take care of ourselves as much as we are taking care of others. Please read the newsletter and all the instructions linked below to fully understand the work.

    Week 4 Update

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy! Attached you will find a weekly update for Week 4. Please make sure your student is reading it thoroughly before starting work.

I still have a few of you guys not completing work throughout the week. Students, Here is a link to all cycle 6 work that you are responsible for. Progress report grades will be submitted on the 24th. You are allotted a week to do 90 minutes’ worth of work, so please be vigilant to do your work in a timely fashion. There will be 3 grades students will be held accountable for by the 24th:

    Week 1: ad analysis

    Week 2: advertisement/ commercial

    Week 3’s: Author’s Argument

Though our cluster is at 100% attendance weekly, we are not getting 100% attendance across the board for all core teachers. It is important that your student keep a line of communication open at least once a week with all of their instructors so that we can know they are taking care of their work and themselves during this time. They should be emailing me personally to ask questions or joining Microsoft Teams on the schedules Tuesday meaning or they can call me through TEAMS from 1-3. We would like autonomy at this time to alleviate stress on parents, so please encourage them to ask questions through us first.

    stay calm

    Week 3 Updates

    Hello all!

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy! Attached you will find a weekly update for Week 3. Please make sure your student is reading it thoroughly before starting work.

It is important that your student keep a line of communication open at least once a week with their instructors so that we can know they are taking care of their work and themselves during this time.

In last week's assignment, I asked students to send their feedback in regard to distance learning. Some FAQ (frequently asked questions) can be found answered below:

Q: How do we find and open our student email?

A: Student email can be accessed through Microsoft Office 365 with your student ID. Clickhere to see a step by step video to understand how.

Q: Will we go back to school again?

A: I am unaware of when it will be safe for us to go back to school. I too have grown restless and miss seeing your smiling faces, silly jokes and caring hearts every day. Hopefully, we can return sooner rather than later.

Q: Can we call you outside of your Tuesday Microsoft Teams time if we have an urgent question?

A: Yes! email me first let me know so I can schedule a meeting.

Q: Can you please make each assignment more understandable?

A: I have and will continue to be available through Teams and email to answer questions. As for understandable assignment instructions, there are videos, newsletters and written instructions to aid and guide your completion of the work. Please make sure you are looking through all of those resources BEFORE you ask questions to clarify instructions
