Hi there folks that are still interested in Science. If you made it up to this point, I commend your dedication and perseverance.

I have one last assignment posted on Google Classroom and this one is a request for you to judge and review my Science class.

If you could take the time to review and judge my class with a Flipgrid video, it would be very beneficial for my incoming students. The more honest, the better help it will be to them. I read and listen to each review in hope of improving myself and my class.

Please check the explanation videos available and I wish you all a safe and relaxing summer.

If any of you all need me, please reach out to me through email:

It will be very hard to forget this year (not just the events but some of the students as well!). Don't be a stranger!

This week in our science online learning, we are going to do things a little differently.

Last week, students were to work and turn in their own Eco-Regions Chart (that means by themselves and not group work).

This week however... students are to work in groups and present eco-regions to me (Mr. Caraballo) directly through Microsoft TEAMS.

Please sign up for a time and date for when to present these.

That is the website to register for a time and date. Please hurry, it is likely students are filling in for the best times and days. The last day to present these is Monday, May 18th. Check Google Classroom Instructions slide for all of the details.

This week's assignment is all about Texas.
Please complete the chart in Google Classroom by yourself.
The chart lists Texas' 12 eco-regions.
There are many students who do not like to read completely my online assignments (it is evident from the questioned I am being asked in emails and in TEAMS), but... you must read everything to understand everything.
The group assignment explain in slides is done with a partner, NEXT week, not this week. This week is solo work.
Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions through email: and in Microsoft TEAMS.

Posted by RCaraballo on 4/27/2020 10:00:00 AM

This week in online science, students will be doing two activities:
    1. An EdPuzzle covering Erosion, Weathering and Deposition
    2. Choose one of the eleven landforms and find a specific site to advertise.
(For example, let's say you chose a Mesa, you can then choose the Grand Canyon. A type of Mesa with a large river that cut through it)

Make sure to complete both of these parts! There are instructions in a video update and in the instructions file.

I have had many students who are completing partial parts of the assignments. Unless otherwise stated, do each part. My intention is not to take up your time but to cover all aspects of a content to have students ready for future science classes.

You will also find some OPTIONAL assignments. These can be completed for extra credit. They however, do not substitute or count towards for credit of that week's assignment.

There is an optional assignment this week: A simple poll question over a possible assignment for next week!

Make sure to turn in late assignments!

If there are any questions, please reach out to me by TEAMS or email:

I hope you have turned in 3 assignments so far for this 6th cycle.

I should have received through Google Classroom:

    1. Biotic Vs. Abiotic Factors
    2. GIZMO- Food Chains
    3. Catastrophic Events ScienceFlix

There was an optional extra credit in case you would have liked to complete more work.
Please check Google Classroom for that.

This week we are talking about Ecological Succession.
This week's online assignment will have 3 mini-assignments.
    A) Ecological Succession drawing
    B) Ecological Succession Venn Diagram
    C) Ecological Succession Flipgrid

    What is Flipgrid?
For those of you that have not used it, it is a media based platform in which you create and record videos. You will teach ME about Ecological Succession. Please open up the assignment for directions.

If you have any questions on this week's assignment, please join me on Microsoft TEAMS, Monday - Friday from 1-3PM.

The instructions on how to join are on top of this webpage.

Hi 7B and thank you for once again checking the blog!
I am sorry that I am not able to give you experiements or live activities like the rat dissection lab but I do spend many hours trying to find interesting videos and creating engaging content. I hope you are enjoying what you see.

This is the 6th cycle at the moment, please do all of the Google Classroom assignments. I will be posting up extra credit oppourtunities in the middle of the week if you have time. The extra credit is NOT a substitute for the week's assignment and should only be done after the week's assignment has been completed.

This week, students are to complete 2 things:

    1. Fill in the Catastrophic Events Chart

    2. Choose one of the four ScienceFlix assignments and do them on the Google Slide.

The information to complete this and the step by step instructions are on a third file that is called "How to Complete Instructions". Check this first, then start on the assignments. This is due Sunday, April 19th.

This week, I will be using the new Google Classroom online assignment, "Food Chains GIZMO" as the first grade of the 6th cycle.

This will be due on Sunday, April 12th.

You should have two windows open:
    1. HISD website application: The HUB
    2. Google Classroom assignment: Food Chain GIZMO doc

I have to put grades for 5th cycle in before April 8th.
I am so impressed that despite not being at school, there are so many students who are on point with deadlines. Yet, there are still many grades that have not been completed. Please reach out to me as soon as possible to fix any glitches, errors or concerns regarding grades. Email me:

If you want to check what grades are missing, check the GradeSpeed Monitor and look for the 3 letters: MSG
    This means it is missing.

I want to help out as much as possible but unless I am reached, I cannot do anything about it.

There are many families that I do not have any contact info. Either it was incorrectly input at the beginning of the year or it has expired.

Please reach out to me so I may be able to help you.
