The first 6 weeks of the semester, Houston ISD will be implementing an asynchronous instructional model and provide short synchronous live support. Teachers will provide live support and intervention in accordance with the asynchronous model.
Students will complete self-paced and personalized activities via the HUB through HISD @ H.O.M.E. with computers, laptops, tablets, iPads, and smartphones. Students will have the opportunity to complete the assigned work and will also have access to an instructional support schedule from their classroom teacher that is predictable and sufficient.
Beyond the HUB master course lessons, you will have online access to Imagine Math, Imagine Language and Literacy, MackinVIA, and the other HISD library and research web sites.
Parents of students in College Level programs (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Credit, Dual Enrollment) should ensure their students follow specific program coursework, policies, procedures, and requirements.
For parent information about learning at home with HISD, we encourage you to take the online Parent Course.

Sample daily online schedule
When your student learns via distance learning, they're going to need parent support to think about how to establish a regular routine. To develop your child's daily schedule, ask them about a typical school day. Consider their ability to stay focused and how long they can reasonably devote their full attention to a task. Below is a sample daily schedule. Your student's schedule will look different depending upon your family dynamics, the number of school-aged children in your home, and your child's personal learning needs.
