• Welcome to Almeda's Library

The journey to anywhere in the universe one could possibly want to explore begins with the imagination. Here, in the library of Almeda Elementary School, we do everything we can to foster and nourish creativity. The large glass windows house everything from fiction to nonfiction books, from graphic novels to fairytales, and resources designed for research; one will find thousands of materials to please the reading palate. Here, we are dedicated to challenging our students by encouraging them to delve into several genres.

During their weekly visit, students can check books in and out of our collection of more than 10,000. In addition to that, Almeda hosts virtual authors, along with community members who participate in Houston ISD's "Real Men Read" program to keep students engaged. Our schoolwide book fair occurs twice a year - during the fall and spring. We encourage all parents to allow their children to participate.
