• If you need a recommendation letter from me, please follow these guidelines:

    • Do not contact me about a recommendation letter before August 30, 2022.
    • I must have been your teacher for a full school year before this year.
      • Please consider how well I may know you, because getting the best letter you can will depend on that. That means that getting the best letter possible may not be from me if I don't know you well enough.
    • All requests for a recommendation letter must be made via email at least a month before the due date.
    • Send me an email (mrodri20@houstonisd.org) from your HISD email address requesting the recommendation and telling me your first deadline.
      • Include a brag sheet/resume attached to your email.
    • Do NOT add me as a recommender on Naviance until I have agreed to write the recommendation.
    • I will respond to your email to let you know if I am willing to write you a recommendation.
    • Complete the form that I send to you after I say yes.
      • If I agree to write a recommendation, I will ask you to answer a few questions to provide me with information that may be helpful when writing the recommendation.
    • Remind me weekly!
    • I will NOT provide you with copies of the recommendation or give them to you to submit; all recommendations will be submitted through Naviance/ApplyTexas/etc.
    • If you need me to mail a physical copy of the letter, you must provide a stamped envelope that has the address already written on it.
      • If you need to submit a physical letter as part of a scholarship application packet, find out from the scholarship how they want me to submit it and let me know in advance when it needs to be sent/mailed.
