Alecia McMillian is the proud principal of Walnut Bend Elementary. Ms. McMillian started her educational career as a first through third-grade Montessori teacher at Anderson Academy in Aldine ISD. She joined Houston ISD in 2013 as the Magnet Coordinator at Dodson Montessori and was assistant principal at Daily Elementary for 7 years. She most recently served as the assistant principal at Shearn Elementary. Ms. McMillian was named HISD’s 2022 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern A&M University and a master’s degree in Education Administration from Sam Houston State University.
