Lamar Student Council

  • The Lamar Student Council, comprised of approximately 50 students, is a dedicated group of student leaders who strive to not only lend aid in the school, but also in the community.

These students participate and oversee numerous volunteer services throughout the year and take time out of their school work, part-time jobs, family time and social life to lend a hand toward a worthy cause.

They strive to help others and in the process have become the heroes of their peers and community.

How to get involved? Students will have an opportunity in the beginning of both Fall and Spring Semester to join the club.

When we meet? Club meetings are held every other Thursday students are permitted to participate during their lunch on A days. Students who wish to be in the 3rd period class will go through an interview process in February as there are limited spaces available in the class.

Examples of their service initiatives are:

Their annual Blood Drive, which is one of their most important volunteer efforts, is hosted on campus three times a year and saves an estimated 1000 lives a year.

“Helping Hands,” which involves coordinating students leaders in every club/organization on campus to assist people with food and clothing who have suffered from major disasters around the world.

Collecting toys and canned goods during the holidays for the less fortunate.
