A message from our Principal:
Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year from Ms. Cortez
Hello Ram Nation! My name is Jeanette Cortez, and I am a Houstonian through and through. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Houston-Downtown. I have worked in HISD for 11 years, the first 8 years as a teacher and the last 3 years in leadership. I grew up in Houston and attended schools within the Houston Independent School District (HISD).
My father is an immigrant, and my mother didn't have the opportunity to finish her schooling. Despite these challenges, I became the first and only member of my family to attend and graduate from college. The struggles we faced as a family gave me a deep appreciation for teachers who went above and beyond their roles. Their dedication and support played a crucial role in my education, inspiring me to achieve what I have today. Motivated by their example, I am committed to advocating for those I serve.
I am a visionary and an innovator, driven by the desire to make a positive impact and to support others in overcoming their own challenges.
I am excited to embark on this journey alongside all of you. #RamNationFamily
