My name is Luisa Fda. Jiménez-W and this is my 11th year at Carnegie Vanguard High School.   I teach Spanish III (Pre-AP), Spanish IV (AP Spanish Language and Culture), Spanish V (AP Spanish Literature and Culture) and Spanish VI Honors. 

    I am originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and Houston has been my home for the last 27 years.  I graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá with a Major in Journalism.  Later I obtained my Master´s degree from the University of Houston in Spanish Linguistics and Literature in 2003.  I have taught Spanish for 24 years, 19 of those with the Houston Independent School District, HISD.

    In addition to the academic work I also sponsor the Hispanic Honor Society, and the Latin Dance Club.   I love dancing, cycling, music, soccer, books, and films.
