Every Summer Has a StoryStudents will participate in the HISD summer reading program, Every Summer Has a Story. Herrera students will read at least five books over the summer. Students will turn in their IB Summer Reading Challenge paper to the library in August to participate.To encourage summer reading and continue to provide opportunities for skill building, the district is partnering with Capstone Publishing to make their myON digital reading platform available to all students free of charge for the summer months. This partnership will give students unlimited access to over 4,000 enhanced digital books that can be read anytime, anywhere, via the internet of offline through mobile devices.

HISD Summer Reading Form
Summer Reading Form for students to write down the books they read over the summer. Students who read at least 5 books over the summer, write them down and return them to the library at the beginning of the 2014-2015 will receive a prize. -

Herrera Suggested Reading List
Herrera students will take home a list of suggested reading for the summer. Lists will have a variety of fiction, biography, non-fiction and poetry.
