The Guitar Program at Crespo Elementary provides 3rd to 5th grade students an opportunity to learn classical guitar on a weekly basis regardless of their ability level. Through this program, students will develop an ear for melody, a sense of rhythm and an appreciation for collaborative musical performance. It encourages young guitarists to hone their skills by setting monthly goals and working towards a public recital on campus. The Guitar Program is directed by 4th grade teacher Marco Graniel and is based on the teachings of master guitarist Edward Grigassy, director of Bellaire High School’s Guitar Initiative Program.
