    CODING and ROBOTICS

Coding and Robotics are important extensions of our school program.  Additionally, a Maker Space component will be added to the campus this coming school year along with a morning broadcast for the morning announcements! Under the direction of Mr. Hebert, Instructional Technologist our Science and Technology staff have led the after-school programs and coordinated weekend competitions for students in 4th - 8th grades.  There is a need for parent volunteers to continue this enrichment programming!  This year, there will be two club sessions.  The first will begin mid-September and end in December and the second session will begin mid-January and end in May.  In order for students to participate, they must maintain passing grades, appropriate school behavior including the ability to work well with others and follow the instructor's directions, on-time and exemplary school attendance and students must be dropped off/picked up on time and commit to attending competitions.  Applications will be posted to Living Tree and sent home with students.  Mr. Jefferson is also trained through Code.org and offers coding opportunities to students in the Middle School program.
