César E. Chávez High School

  • PowerUp Fees

    • PowerUp is a districtwide initiative aimed at preparing students for the world beyond the four walls of the classroom. Part of this effort includes the district’s one-to-one laptop program, which eventually will provide every high school student with a laptop to use for learning at school and at home. For this privilege, each student is required to pay an annual, non-refundable $25 security deposit fee. Under HISD Board of Education policy, questions regarding fee eligibility should be directed to the school principal. For additional information, please see PowerUp.
  • Students will need to turn in both the Chavez Student Loan Agreement and the HISD Student Loan Agreement signed by both the parent/guardian and student.

  • Students will have the opportunity to pick up their HISD school laptops BEFORE school starts.

As part of the HISD PowerUp Initiative, there is a $25 fee.  However, this fee has been waived this year.

Also, a HISD Laptop Loan Agreement contract must be signed by both the student and by the student’s parent or guardian. In addition, Chavez High School also requires an additional contract to be signed regarding expected behavior and care of the PowerUp laptop.

To receive the laptop, you must turn in both contracts.
