The Apple Lab provides students the opportunity to learn about the basics of Computer Science through learning.com. This program is aligned with the district and state learning objectives. This program delivers digital lessons and activities they can use in the Lab, classroom, and home.

In the Apple Lab the students get very excited about coding. Scratch is program designed for our students to learn and practice basic coding skills in the computer lab. This program allows students to develop other skills like Math, Geometry, Algebra, etc... while they learn coding. By the end of the year, students create their own computer programs that are showcased in the annual Expos in and out of the school.

We also use iStaion in the Apple Lab. This program is a comprehensive e-learning program used by HISD students for READING, WRITING, SCIENCE and SOCIAL STUDIES. Every month students take an assessment known as the ISIP (iStation’s Indicator of Progress).  Based on the reports students get differentiated instruction and intervention as needed.
