Notices & Notes:

  • Here is a Breakdown of information from myself and Mrs. Harbour to keep your brains in "tip top" shape over the summer.
Review and work at your own pace.

    On Going for 3rd grade:
This year ended in a whirlwind. There is a chance a few topics were not covered as fully as we would have liked. Here are some hot topics that need to be reinforced over the summer...(**The following topics were covered but only generally.)

    -Science:
    Measurement (Imperial / Metric Systems)
    Various Ecosystems

    -Social Studies:
    Timeline Vocabulary
    Reasons for settlement
    Primary and Secondary sources
Celebrations and Artist impact on community

    -Resources:
    Science Fusion Interactive lessons
    Studies Weekly bonus sources
    Brain pop

    In Coming for 4th Grade:
“Summertime Slide”, the idea that most students will lose a good bit of the previous school year’s knowledge over the summer, will be more intense this year. These are some concepts you should study over the summer in preparation for next year!

    -Science:
    Science tools and their uses
Types of science (such as “chemist” or zoologist”)
    Science careers
    Important scientists and their contribution

    -Social Studies:
    Citizenship – rights and responsibilities
Difference between local, state, and federal government
    Using primary and secondary sources

    -Resources:
    Newsela.com
    Mysteryscience.com
    Brainpop.com
    Science Fusion
    Studies Weekly

  • Assignment Expectations
Students and Parents can anticipate Science or Social Studies homework Tuesday and Thursday...

Your child is your first source of knowledge about homework and assignments.
Students are expected to write their assignments in their planner daily.
When planners are used as a tool, they promotes organization and personal responsibility.

**Please check and sign your child's planner daily to see that your child is writing homework and personal reminders like test retakes, project materials, and even pre-planned classroom dojo purchased passes and events**
