Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education
Years 1-3 (Spanish)
Hola! Me llamo Srta. Starr. I teach Spanish 1A and Spanish 1B here at Tanglewood Middle School. This is my second year at Tanglewood and I am extremely excited to be working with our Gators. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Management and Professional Education from from Austin Peay State University. I received my Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Western Kentucky University. In my free time I love trying international cuisines, dancing, reading, and traveling. I have visited many Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and more!) and look forward to sharing my knowledge with the classroom.
Keys to success in my classroom include: studying at least 20 minutes a day; completing assignments in a timely manner; and motivation to explore a new culture. I hold our Gators to high expectations and know that they can reach! If you feel like you are falling behind or need extra help, tutoring is available from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Thursdays or by appointment.
