Questions/Answers
-
Can I Access Blackboard (Schoolwires) from home?
Yes. Blackboard is a web-based Content Management System (CMS) and can therefore be accessed from any computer with internet access.
-
Where do I go for Blackboard Training?
All HISD departments are required to maintain an official website that includes a department overview, contact and staff information, links to subdepartment information, a calendar of events, mandatory links to forms, and departmental Twitter feed (if applicable). All departments are asked to audit their websites to ensure all information is correct and up to date, using this reference sheet and website guidelines document. HISD Communications audits department websites to ensure all checklist items are complete.
Communications conducts mandatory training sessions for webmasters. Each department must designate up to three website administrators to complete training for administrator privileges. These staff members are responsible for the routine development and maintenance of their campus webpages. Webmasters who have already completed training are exempt.
