Principal: Erica Cantu Tran
Erica Cantu Tran began her education career 19 years ago serving as a 4th grade ESL teacher for the Houston Independent School District at J.C. Mitchell Elementary. In 2018, Tran was named Principal of Bonham Elementary where she restructured the school and built a community of trust and academic excellence. Tran previously served in Goose Creek CISD as a 3rd grade teacher at Harlem Elementary School then became a reading specialist for grades 3-5, and later an assistant principal at Gentry Junior School. After three years as an assistant principal, Tran was named principal of Horace Mann Junior School, where she led the campus in continuously meeting state standards and earning distinctions in science and reading. Tran earned a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and master’s in Education from Lamar University.

Dean of Instruction: Cynthia Romero
Cynthia Romero was born and raised in Southwest Houston and attended HISD schools. She is starting her 12th year in education with all of her experience being in the elementary and middle school level. She has been an upper elementary bilingual teacher, school counselor for grades 3rd-5th, Region 4 Inspire Texas Instructor for aspiring teachers, and currently the Dean of Instruction. Ms. Romero holds a bachelor’s degree in education from University of Houston and a master’s degree in School Counseling and Educational Leadership from ST. Thomas University. She looks forward to collaborating with all teachers, staff, and community stakeholders to ensure the SEL and Academic needs of all our students are met.

Assistant Principal: Irene Uribe
Irene Uribe started her educational career in 2009. She began teaching in Goose Creek CISD in grades 3rd – 5th. She soon became a Teacher Development Specialist and an Assistant Principal in Spring ISD. For the past five years she has served as an Assistant Principal of which the last three have been at Bonham Elementary. As an Assistant Principal, she has been instrumental in steadily increasing student achievement across all domains through collaborative partnerships with administrators, teachers, and the school-community. Uribe graduated with a bachelor’s degree from University of Houston Clear Lake in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4 and holds a master’s degree from Lamar University in Educational Leadership.

Assistant Principal: Kisha Evans
Kisha Evans began her teaching career at Worthing High School in 2007, where she served as Biology teacher and Science Department Chair. Later those talents were transferred to Furr High School in 2013. The beginning of her administration career started at Woodson K-8 where she served as Science Instructional Specialist. There she held many roles and titles such as Title I Coordinator, LEP Coordinator, Testing Coordinator, TADS Coach/Observer and Discipline Administrator over various grade levels. She also served as Science Instructional Specialist at Dekaney High School in Spring ISD. Her primary focus is planning and creating student centered classrooms by utilizing differentiated instruction to reach and increase the mastery level of every student. Evans holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.

Math Teacher Specialist: Henry Suckie
Henry Suckie began his teaching career in 2014, where he served as an Algebra 1 Teacher and math program coordinator in his home state of Florida. He then shifted to working at a K-8 school where he served as a lead Math and Science teacher for five years. His leadership career began the following year where he served as a Principal at his charter’s feeder High School. Throughout his leadership positions in Florida, he has worked overseeing Title 1, School Improvement Plans, writing charter school Applications, and developing teachers. The following year he moved to Texas where he served at Henry Middle school as a math teacher and department chair. He will now serve as the Math Teacher Specialist at Henry. Suckie holds a bachelor’s in criminology and Law from the University of Florida, a Master’s of Science in Education Law and an Educational Specialist Degree in Education Leadership both from Nova Southeastern University.

Social Studies Teacher Specialist: Charles Thompson
Charles Thompson is starting on his 8th year in education with all his years being in high school and middle school level. He has been a high school teacher, Title I Coordinator, and currently a teacher specialist and IB Coordinator. As the Social Studies Specialist and IB Coordinator, he looks forward to collaborating with all teachers and staff to ensure that the IB MYP initiative is successfully implemented throughout the 2020-2021 school year.

New Teacher Coach: Genord Spencer
Genord Spencer is starting his 22nd year in education. His experience is in the middle school and high school level. He has been a middle school teacher, school administrator for grades 6th-8th grade, and currently a New Teacher Coach. As the New Teacher Coach, he looks forward to giving effective support helping all beginning teachers successfully transition into their teaching assignments. He is very excited to help new teachers with collecting and analyzing student data, curriculum planning for professional growth and development and other activities to improve student achievement.

School Counselor: Julissa Chavez
Julissa Chavez is starting her 4th year as the only school counselor at Patrick Henry Middle School. I was raised in El Paso, TX and for the past 10 years have lived in Flagstaff, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, San Antonio, TX , Allentown, PA and now Houston, TX. She received her Master’s in Counseling in 2012 from Highlands University in New Mexico. Her background includes teaching and counseling at the elementary and middle school levels in four different states.

At-Risk Program Specialist: Cindy Zuniga
Cindy Zuniga received her Associates of Arts in Teaching, from Lone Star College System – Kingwood in December 2010. Then became a Bear Kat at Sam Houston State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administrations in Management in May 2015. Cindy Zuniga started with HISD in 2020 as an At-Risk Program Administrator at Bonham Elementary School. There she held different roles such as the Intervention Assistance Team (IAT) Liaison, ARD Facilitator, Formative Assessment Coordinator (FAC), Section 504 Assist, Gifted and Talented (GT) Assist, to name a few. Cindy Zuniga is excited to be part of Patrick Henry Family.
