  • I began working at West Briar Middle School as the Campus Social Worker in 2016. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and am nationally rostered Trauma and Grief Component Therapist. I attended college at Troy University and graduate school at The University of Alabama, where I obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work. Prior to becoming a School Social Worker, I was a Therapist and Case Manager in Alabama working with children and adolescents with specified behavior problems. When I moved to Texas in 2016, I chose to work as a School Social Worker because it allows me to build a rapport and work with students and families over a longer period of time.

I chose the Social Work profession because it focuses on the individual, along with their environment, and various aspects of life that impact them. This approach is unique to Social Work and separates it from other helping professions.  This focus allows for a more comprehensive approach when supporting student and families in removing barriers and empowering them to meet their needs.

I am member of professional organizations: the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) and the National Association of Social Work (NASW) to stay up to date on the latest information that impacts social work practice and profession.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling, running, and spending time with my family, friends, and my dogs, Scout & Otis. Fun Fact: Otis is a therapy dog in training- I hope he will be able to join me at West Briar soon, once all of his training is complete.

    Sincerely,

    Madison S. Taylor, LCSW
