Burbank Middle School is one of 28 middle schools in HISD that enjoys having Project Explore on campus. This excellent program is designed to help middle school students find their way through the educational process. Project Explore connects students with information and experiences which open their minds to options for their future. Some activities are one on one advisory sessions and excursions to job sites or universities. Students meet with their advisor in small groups at least once a week to discuss any questions they may have as well as plan future activities. Please visit the Project Explore  site to learn more about the activities available to all participants.

Enrollment in the program is limited to about 25 students in each grade level per year. There is an application process which involves not only the student, but his or her parents or guardians. Once enrolled, a student may participate in the program throughout his or her middle school years. Additionally, students may join in any grade level, provided there is space available.
