BIOGRAPHY

HELLO! My name is Mrs. Gina Messick Farquharson. This is my 8th year teaching at Jack Yates High School as the Visual Art Instructor. I teach all levels of art, from Intro to Advanced, and AP Art. I ensure our JY students have a well-rounded creative experience with all types of art mediums, art history, and critical problem-solving when creating projects. Art comes from the heart, and I enjoy teaching students how to connect with their creative spirit for social and emotional learning. I have a Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin (GO HORNS!). I am the proud mother of three (3) grown children. I LOVE ART!!!! And I look forward to sharing my passion for art with you this year! GO LIONS!
