My name is Dana Jackson, I teach Digital Audio Technology with a focus on Music Production. Before joining the staff here at Jack Yates High School, I spent 20 years working in radio as an air personality, voice over specialist, content producer and DJ. I am also a singer, songwriter and musician. This will be my 6th year in education and I honestly get my greatest joy from sharing my passion and experience in the music business with our SOC students. It is my wish that the time they spend in my class helps each student to be confident, successful and well-rounded.

Here are just a few fun facts about me!

1. I was born in Detroit, Michigan where my father was once a songwriter at the legendary Motown Record label.

2. I played basketball on a full scholarship at the University of Texas-Arlington.

3. I ride motorcycles!

4. I come from a large family that includes twin brothers and twin sisters.

5. The last book I read was an instruction manual for the Akai MPC One music sampler.
