I was born and raised in Longview, Texas, and am a proud graduate of Longview High School. For my undergraduate degree, I attended Texas Southern University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Mathematics.  In January 1995, I started my career as an educator and I have been a classroom teacher in Aldine ISD, Fort Bend ISD and Houston ISD. In December 2004,  I earned my Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Prairie View A & M University, and have worked eight years as a counselor in Fort Bend ISD and Houston ISD.This is my 10th year at Yates and I am beginning my 9th year working in Grad Lab. 

I am a 3rd generation educator, and the daughter of two former educators. I have been blessed to be the mother of two fabulous children who attend college.  I enjoy reading and my favorite book is "Baby of the Family" by Tina McElroy Ansa.  I also enjoy shopping, solving crossword puzzles, and traveling. I am excited to work with you towards your student success. My motto is:  “Hard Work Pays Off!”  Let’s get to work Lions!
