Donmonique Streater is a first year teacher at the historical Jack Yates High School.

Prior to teaching at JYH, she taught at Yes Prep and Aldine isd.

Ms.Streater holds a B.A. in English and will graduate with her M.A. in English in December 2023 from the illustrious Texas Southern University. She will continue her studies and earn a second Masters degree in Social Worker this upcoming fall.

As a graduate of Texas Southern University, it was very important to her that she come back to the great third ward community and teach because this community has poured so much into her.

Ms.Streater takes pride in having strong content knowledge which encourages rigor in the classroom. Therefore, her classroom motto is "learning is not optional, it is mandatory." Ms.Streater looks forward to increasing students' reading comprehension, writing technique, and critical thinking skills this upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
