Mrs. Nichaelia Tucker

I am a native of Louisiana and a proud alumni of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA. I am a Christian, wife, and mother of three beautiful girls. My career in education began in 2012 as a second grade teacher in the East Baton Rouge Parish School District. I then became a fourth grade teacher, in St. Martin Parish Schools for a year before returning to East Baton Rouge Parish. In 2017, I was promoted to Teacher Specialist then soon after to Administrative Dean. Moving to Houston in 2020, I joined the Codwell family as a Math Teacher Specialist in Houston ISD. In 2022, I became the Assistant Principal at Codwell Elementary. My hobbies include shopping, traveling with my family, and reading romance novels. My passion is to transform minds and make a positive difference in the lives of those I get the opportunity to serve.

Ms. Valerie Cervantes

My name is Valerie Cervantes. I am so excited for this school year! I was born in Houston and attended HISD schools in the Near Northside community. I graduated from University of Houston- Downtown. This will be my fourth year teaching kindergarten here at Shadydale. In my free time I like to spend time with my friends and family and travel.

Being a coach within this community can be incredibly rewarding. Loving my kids is my biggest goal each and evry year. But also Helping children develop a love for physical activity and instilling lifelong healthy habits. Watching Growth: Seeing students improve their skills, gain confidence, and achieve personal milestones. Making a significant impact on children’s physical, emotional, and social development. Forming strong, supportive relationships with students and witnessing their enthusiasm. Enjoying a job that is active and varied, with new challenges. Ms. Jamie Jackson

Jamie Jackson is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a BA degree in Communications. She is a Houston native and proficient in the Spanish language. Ms. Jackson is an enthusiast of Sociology, and Linguistics, and has worked with children for more than 20yrs, collectively. She is an outgoing Mother of three and loves empowering others! As one of her greatest accolades, she reigned as Miss Prairie View A&M University 2007-2008.

Ms. Laws works with various programs and provides overall strategic direction and leadership for instruction and compliance goals. A resourceful educator and advocate, her work has been recognized with honors, including Teacher of Year and Set the Pace Award recipient. A native Houstonian and graduate of Kashmere Sr. High in 1992. Ms. Laws has earned her Bachelor's Degree from Southwest Texas State in 1996, a Master's in Business Administration in 2003, and her Principal's Certification in 2016 to pursue her dream of helping others achieve success.

Mrs. Kayla Hutchins

Hi, my name is Kayla Hutchins. I am the reading interventionist at Shadydale! I come from a family of educators who are now retired and help me raise my son, Cael. I have taught for four years, including teaching in Mexico. My specialty is teaching kids to read, but my super power is teaching kids to LOVE reading. An interesting fact about me is that I learned American Sign Language in college. I am excited to work with the families in the Shadydale community and develop life-long learners.

My name is Sonya R. Wilson-Jackson. I’ve been on this amazing teaching journey for 25 years. Investing in children’s futures has brought dividends too numerous to count. Being an educator of excellence is unique and very challenging, yet vibrant and beautiful. Mr. Bilal Wilburn

I am a proud Los Angeles native with this being my fourth year working in education. I am also a private Math tutor where I tutor students from 3rd grade-College. Math has always been my favorite subject and I am ecstatic to be teaching 5th grade this year. Outside of school, you can find me traveling, taking photos, or designing socks.

Mr. Ceasar is a dedicated teacher who is passionate about video games and basketball. Despite his nerdy tendencies, he excels in engaging his students through his love for technology and sports. Mr. Anthony Petty

Hi my name is Anthony Petty. I have grew up playing the piano since I was 5 years old,When I was younger my family figured that I would be some kinda musician because I would always get excited when I see a piano or drums. My dad taught me the basics of learning simple piano theory playing simple songs and counting the rhythm and even did piano lessons from a beginner level workbooks. As I grew older I kept learning and gradually increasing my knowledge for music.I always had an ear for music,I’ve wanted to know more and become better than the average musician.

Mr. Ajani Spiller

Ajani Spiller 3rd grade AOT and 3rd grade GTL. Married 18 years with four beautiful children 24, 18, 14, and 7. I have a bachelor's and masters in business, and I am a Proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi "NUPE NUPE YO..." This is my 2nd year at Shadydale, 2nd year as a GTL, and 10th year in education. I worked for JP Morgan Chase for 15 years as a manager in the Operating Loss Prevention department. Before transitioning to education. Previously before working at Shadydale I worked in College Counseling and as an Athletics Director for YES Prep.I am a former College and High School basketball coach. My motto is Faith and Family in that order. I look forward to an awesome year.
