• This year I teach AP Literature and Composition (aka APLIT) and English 4.
A few facts about me: I am a native Houstonian, and a very long time ago, I earned a Bachelor's degree at Sam Houston State University. I am currently certified in English, history, and ESL.  I also have a Master's degree in English Literature from UH. I have a variety of teaching experience; I've taught 7-8th grade English, Texas History, journalism, English 2-4, AP Literature, AP Language, World History, dual credit English, and college English at North Harris County Junior College and HCC. I have been teaching at Sharpstown International since the second year of the school when we were located on the Sharpstown HS main campus.  This is my eleventh year with HISD, but I have also taught in Aldine ISD and Fort Bend ISD.  My hobbies are reading, making jewelry, watching great movies and YouTube crafting tutorial videos, and hanging out at the beach whenever I can.
I would like to welcome all students to my English class and express sincere hopes for a great year together!  We will be doing lots of reading and writing, especially towards the goals of preparing for graduation and the AP exam. By the end of the year, with much hard work, you should be ready for the assignments you will encounter in  college!
