Clarissa Giddings comes to On-Time Grad Academy with seventeen years of service with the Houston Independent School District. Her career with the district began at Sharpstown Middle School. There she taught english and math for four years prior to becoming Sharpstown Middle School’s Magnet Coordinator. After working at Sharpstown she worked as an Academic Coach for Project GRAD Houston, Math Specialist for HISD’s South Region, and Dean of Instruction at the Houston Academy for International Studies.
Ms. Giddings grew up in Dallas and is a product of the Richardson Independent School District, graduating from Lake Highlands High School. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in reading and math. This specialty area guides her teaching style, as she is keenly aware of how various facets of how reading and math impact academic progress. After graduating from UH, she attended Texas Southern University. Ms. Giddings earned her master’s degree in Educational Administration. Currently Ms. Giddings is seeking a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston.
