Overview
HISD School Nutrition Meal Application
Families at schools not participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program will need to complete a Free/Reduced-Price Meal Application to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch meals.
Families who qualify based on household income and federal eligibility guidelines may receive free or reduced-price meals. Families who do not qualify will be required to pay for lunch meals. Breakfast will continue to be offered at no cost to all students across all campuses.
We encourage all families to complete an application, even if they are unsure whether they qualify. To apply for free or reduced-price meals, please complete the HISD School Nutrition Meal Application beginning July 22, 2026.

2026 - 2027 Non-CEP Schools
The following campuses are designated as Non-CEP schools and do not participate in the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) during the 2026–2027 school year.
Students attending these schools must have an approved Meal Benefits Application on file to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch benefits. Breakfast is free for all HISD students, regardless of meal eligibility. Families may submit a Meal Benefits Application through SchoolCafé.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/USDA-OASCR%20P-Complaint-Form-0508-0002-508-11-28-17Fax2Mail.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
