Parent & Family Engagement
Welcome parents! Title I, Part A Parent and Family Engagement affords parents meaningful opportunities to participate in their children's education. Title I resources support activities of the district’s Family and Community Engagement Department (FACE) in building capacity for effective parental involvement, which includes training parents on how to work with their children to improve academically and training to improve their own literacy and parenting skills. Public Comments on the ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application
ESEA Section 8306(a)(7) and the ESSA Program-Specific Provisions and Assurances requires Houston ISD to receive public comment before the ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application is submitted to TEA. Houston ISD is projecting to submit the 2026-2027 ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 for all ESSA grants Houston ISD is eligible to receive. The public comment period is from May 13, 2026 to June 5, 2026.
