In Houston ISD, zipcode no longer dictates destiny. On August 12th no HISD student walked into an F-rated campus. 70,000 more students walked into A- and B-rated campuses than the year prior. Over the last two years, HISD has more than doubled the number of A- and B-rated schools, improving opportunities and outcomes for students across the city. HISD is not stopping there. Our pursuit is for every child to attend a high-quality school and for HISD to be the highest performing large urban district in the nation. By August 2027, all HISD schools will be A- or B-rated. That is the Houston Promise.
