    HISD onsite clinics have new hours effective Aug. 29, 2022

    Beginning August 29, the HISD Health and Wellness Centers will have new hours and will be open during the lunch hour. The HMW clinic will be open 9-4:30 M-F & 8-1 Sat, and the Attucks clinic will be open 9-4:30 M-F. For details, visit the HISD onsite clinic page linked above.

    Once again this year, HISD is offering free flu vaccinations to district employees from Sept. 17 to Oct. 20 at their work locations. A Saturday drive-through clinic is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 17 in the HMW west parking lot.

    Livongo, the Diabetes Management System, has open slots!

    Livongo has open slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Livongo program for HISD is capped at 500 participants. Livongo offers support for diabetes, including unlimited test strips at no cost; the Livongo connected meter that provides real-time tips & uploads readings; and access to health coaches who are certified diabetes educators and may assist with nutrition planning and lifestyle management.

    Mykawa Farms hosted a farmer’s market with a wide assortment of produce for sale. “How to Garden,” a video produced by the district’s Nutrition Services Dept., was screened at the event, and a hydroponic grower was installed in the HMW café.

It’s important to give our children support as we all work to come to terms with such a devastating event.
