    The Rice University hosted the first annual Tapia-Turner Healthcare Scholars in partnership with the HISD College and Career Readiness with The City of Houston's Education Office and Houston Community College Coleman.

  • Students from Madison HS and Sterling HS visited UTSA

    34 students from Madison and Sterling visited UTSA on Thursday. The trip included a campus tour and admissions presentation, lunch in the campus dining hall, a tour of the athletic facilities with the assistant basketball coach and former undergraduate and graduate student athletes who discussed life as a student athlete at the college level.

  • NACAC College Fair - Wisdom HS takes students

    Students had a chance to speak to admissions officers from different universities during their visit to the NACAC College Fair. Wisdom took roughly 30 juniors students to the NACAC college fair. The NACAC college fair hosts hundreds of colleges and universities from around the world.

  • Wisdom High School Visits Texas State University

    “We took Wisdom High School students who had PSAT scores in the range that would get them automatically accepted into the university. It was a mix of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Some of the students who joined us had not left the Houston area before coming to the United States, so Texas State University was one of the first places they visited! ~ Alison Murray, Advisor

  • 9 -11 Launch Team: Wheatley High School visits Lamar University

    Wheatley visits Lamar University “The college field trip to Lamar University was a great experience for the students, myself, as well as the other chaperones. Students were given a chance to ask questions about the admissions requirements/process and were also given a tour of the campus (ex., residence hall, student center, bookstore and dining hall). Overall the trip was informational and students enjoyed themselves. “

  • B.T. Washington Visits UTSA

    Roughly 40 juniors ventured to The University of Texas at San Antonio to tour the campus and hear more about what UTSA has to offer. Students were impressed with the amount of diversity on the campus and few had ventured outside of Houston to visit colleges. Being able to see a very different type of campus atmosphere than they had seen in Houston was valued.

    At HHF Career and Education Day 2/16/19, participants attended high-impact sessions on prospective careers and career fields. Visited with both local and national college representatives. Received hands-on financial aid assistance.
