Welcoming our New Teachers and Staff to the Browning Family.

New Teachers and Staff:

Isabel Contreras - 4th Grade  4th Grade

Hello, my name is Mrs. Contreras and I graduated from the University of Houston. My family consists of my husband, our daughter, and our two fur babies. This will be my first year teaching and I look forward to learning and growing with our team.


Yanett Gonzalez - 4th Grade  4th grade

My name is Yanett Gonzalez and I am beyond excited to begin this journey at Robert Browning Elementary. I started my career in Education as a Paraprofessional in an Elementary School setting. After working with children for many years and loving what I did, I decided to earn my teaching degree from The University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I gained my teaching experience working for the Archdiocese of Galveston. My goal is to provide a positive learning environment full of memorable experiences for all my students. I am proud to be part of this rewarding profession and can’t wait to witness my student’s achievements.


Julia Ann Moron - 3rd Grade   3rd grade

My name is Julia Moron.  I have taught with Houston ISD for the past 10 years. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelors, U.T.R.G.V with a Master's.  Currently, I am part of Lamar University's Educational Leadership/Administration program.  I am very excited for the opportunity to teach my students at Browning Elementary.  I look forward to our year together.  🌈😊👍
Edith Alicia Colon - 1st grade   1st grade
Hello Browning Family!
My name is Mrs. Colón and I was born in Puerto Rico. I came to the United States in 1988. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Houston and a graduate degree in Counseling form Sam Houston State University. I began my  teaching career in 1999 and became a school counselor in 2003. I am married and have one daughter. I am a world traveler. I have visited over 50 countries around the world. I also enjoys gardening and any outdoor activities. I am very excited to be back teaching and can't wait for the year to begin.
Alma Gonzalez- BSC Resource   BSC Resource
I am extremely excited to be a part of the Browning team! I am a native Houstonian and a graduate of The University of Houston. I began my teaching career 20 years ago as a bilingual, first grade teacher in Pasadena ISD. In 2003, I joined Team HISD at Roosevelt Elementary. While at Roosevelt, I taught PK-4th grades and served as grade chair for many years. Most recently, I joined the turn around team at C. Martinez as a dual-language teacher.  In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with my husband and  three amazing kids.
Norma Aviles- Registrar    Registrar

My name is Norma Aviles, I was born in Mexico City but raised in a beautiful town called Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato. I’ve been living in Houston for the past thirty-five years now. I’m a proud mother of four beautiful daughters. One of my hobbies is walking /jogging. I also love to cook Mexican food dishes.

For the past eleven years I had the opportunity to work as a finance clerk at Ketelsen Elementary.

I consider my self to be a humble and an approachable person. I love working with kids and I take my job very seriously.

I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.
