Repairs Ongoing
Dear Field Community:

We truly hope that you and your family are remaining safe and healthy.

Please be advised that the building repairs necessary to open Field after last week’s winter storm are still underway but have not been completed.

For this reason, all students will continue participating in virtual classes next week, beginning Monday, March 1, 2021 (and until further notice). However, we will keep you informed on when face-to-face instruction will resume after the necessary repairs are complete.

Please know that we are eagerly awaiting the re-opening of our building, and we appreciate your continued patience and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the campus at 713-867-5190.

Virtual Pre-K & Kinder Round-Up:

Join us via Zoom on Thursday, February 4th, at 6pm.

Tardies:

It is our campus goal to ensure that every student attends school regularly and on time. School begins for at 7:30. Students are considered tardy when they are not in their classrooms ready to receive instruction at that time. Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:15. Any student arriving at school after 7:30 a.m. are considered tardy.

Beginning February 1st, all tardies will be documented in PowerSchool. The following consequences may be the result for students with excessive or habitual tardies:

The student may be detained in a waiting room until it is
possible for the student to enter the classroom without disrupting the teaching and learning of the class.
--Students with excessive tardies will receive a conduct cut on their report card per our campus student handbook.
--Students on transfer to our school may be denied their transfer for the upcoming school year.
--A parent conference may be required with campus administration.

Tardiness is disruptive to the learning environment and has a negative impact on student achievement. It is our goal that students attend school and arrive on time every day to provide them the best opportunity of academic success!

Cycle 3 Progress Reports:

Progress Reports go home on Friday, January 15, 2021. Face-to-face students will receive a paper copy, and virtual students and parents are encouraged to view their grades via PowerSchool.  Virtual parents may request paper copies.

Cold Weather Arrival Provisions:

If the temperature is below 50 degrees in the morning, all students will go to their homeroom classes starting at 7:15. We will have staff in the front and in the hallways. Teachers will not be outside but will be in their classrooms by 7:25. The students will be in the classrooms by themselves until 7:25, but we will have staff in the hallways to monitor. On these days, teachers will need to check each student's temperature in their classroom.

Request GT Testing by October 30, 2020
*The following directions for requesting testing are ONLY for 1st-4th grade.*


This year the GT testing window for Field is November 9th through November 20th.  
Click here  for directions to request GT testing for your child on PowerSchool. (Please note that ALL Kindergarten and 5th grade students will automatically be tested during our testing window, unless already identified. You do not need to request testing for those grade levels.)


GT testing will take place at Field as virtual testing is not being offered at this time by the district. (*If your child is currently a virtual student, you will be notified of your testing time and date on campus at Field.


To request GT testing, please use the attached directions to complete the form on HISD Connect, print a copy of the completed Request for Evaluation, scan and email the completed Request for Evaluation to me at: pesquive@houstonisd.org.

While we do not test prek students at Field, you may follow the given instructions to request testing at a different location.

Face-to-face Technology

For students returning to campus for IN-PERSON LEARNING on Oct. 19th, please read the following:

If you are currently using a personal device at home, you will be assigned a school device to use on campus. (These students have already been identified, and devices will be delivered to these students on Monday.)

If you are already using a device from the school, you will be REQUIRED TO BRING THE DEVICE & CHARGER TO SCHOOL DAILY to access programs on the “HUB” and “Digital Resources."

New Teacher Meet & Greet

After class schedules are finalized on Wed., Oct. 14th, your child’s new teacher(s) (if applicable) will send you a link to join their Teams meeting for information regarding supplies needed, schedules, etc.

 

Campus Re-Opening Parent Meeting

Please join us for a Virtual “Campus Reopening Informational Meeting” on Thursday, October 8th, from 5:00pm – 6:00pm. The meeting will be recorded for you to view at a later time, if you are unable to attend at the scheduled time. A handout outlining the Meeting Agenda and Key Points is attached. You will have an opportunity for a Q & A session with Mr. Hendrickson, our school principal, and his Leadership Team, which includes Mrs. Tate and Mrs. Vitela. Our school nurse, Mrs. Waddy will be available to discuss Safety Protocols and Procedures. We hope to see you there!

To register for PowerSchool, contact the school for your parent access code and ID if you have not already received your credentials. Here's who to contact:

--Pre-K, Kinder, & 1st grade parents email Mrs. Martinez.

--2nd grade, 3rd grade, & parents with students in multiple grade levels email Mrs. Reyes
--4th grade & 5th grade parents email Ms. Loerwald. (4th and 5th grade access IDs/passwords have been posted to your child's Class Dojo portfolio.)

Please include parent name, student name(s), and grade level in your email.

Parents need to create a parent account through the PowerSchool Parent Portal at https://hisdconnect.houstonisd.org/public to view their child(ren)'s grades and/or attendance.

2020 class (group) schedules are available here.  Student ID numbers and group numbers can be found on your child's ClassDojo portfolio.

Logging onto the Hub and Teams

Student ID numbers have been posted on ClassDojo under the portfolio tab for each child.  A student ID number is required to log onto the Hub and Teams, both are required for distance learning starting on September 8, 2020.
