Martin Luther King, Jr. Early Childhood Center opened in the Houston Independent School District's South Region in August 2004. Our school offers four year olds a unique opportunity for learning through a multisensory curriculum that includes a Bilingual/ESL Program. The center also has a collaboration with Neighborhood Centers Incorporated Head Start program. Social Services are available through the social worker. MLK, Jr. ECC provides students with a solid foundation in:

Effective oral language
Early financial literacy concepts
Problem solving
Social emotional skills

Students qualify for attendance based on three criteria: income, homelessness, and limited English proficiency.
