A Brief Introduction

Eugene Field Elementary, often referred to as the “Pink School on Studewood,” was named Eugene Field by the School Board in honor of poet Eugene Field. Field officially opened in February of 1929 in the Historic Heights at 703 East 17th Street; we service neighborhood students and transfer students. Currently, our school population totals 471 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade and twenty-six highly qualified teachers that are dedicated to our students. Our academic program focuses on meeting the individual needs of all students by implementing early interventions for all levels of learning along with our Gifted and Talented program for advanced students and Special Education Programs for special needs’ students. Our Special Education Program includes the following: PPCD, Life Skills, Resource, Inclusion, and Speech Therapy.
