Attendance COUNTS!

This is a reminder that all students are required to be present in each class 90% of the time. A student will be denied credit if s/he is absent more than 10%, usually 4 absences. It does NOT matter if the absences are excused or unexcused. Students still need to bring a note to Ms. Perez when absent because it covers other attendance laws.

A student can recover credit through Saturday and before/after school tutorials. Students still have two more opportunities to regain credit on Dec 9th & 16th from 8:00 - 12:00pm. If the absences are not made up, the student will lose credit and will have to repeat the class.  Documentation has been distributed to students at risk of losing credit (NGs) which must be signed by their parent/guardian and returned.  Students should check their HISD email on outlook, teams, or canvas for communication from their AP, registrar, or attendance clerk.

  1. Four or more absences in Semester 1 you must make up the seat time (4 absences exceeds 10%).
  2. Students must make up hours for both excused and unexcused absences.
  3. Credit can be recovered by attending Saturday tutorials and/or after school tutorials.
  4. AP’s will meet with students to provide them with the proper documentation they need to complete.

***Junior and Senior students your health science attendance needs to be divided by 2.  Those classes are double blocked.  Students that have Comp Sci will also only look at one set of attendance hours.  That class has a math component and language component.
