On Monday, November 4th students will be allowed time to participate in the fall festival during regular school hours. There will be games, sports, and fun activities to engage students. Students may choose to wear their school uniform, scrubs, or jeans with a spirit shirt. As a reminder to students that jeans must not have any rips or holes. Additionally, students may not wear leggings, sweats, or pajamas to school. Be advised that, students with accumulated detentions, may not be allowed to participate until their detention assignments have been served. Students should reach out to their AP to find out if they have any outstanding detentions. |

This Monday, is also the start of cycle 3 and the last cycle of the fall semester. While it counts as a 6 week cycle, it is actually shorter and it fly by super-fast. Remember that the semester average is composed of cycles 1-3, each counting 30% with the final making up 10%. Parents should confer with their child about their academic success. Additionally, parents can check HISDConnect (PowerSchool)to follow their child's daily grades and progress. |

Tuesday, November 5th is election day. Parents and students should be aware that DeBakey is voting site, therefore expect more traffic congestion during arrival and dismissal. Please plan accordingly. |

A reminder to students that they may not ride the elevator without a pass from the nurse. This applies before and after school, therefore students who attend tutorials, club meetings, or practice sports after school must use the stairs. Students riding the elevator without a permit may be assigned detention. |
