Our IB Community Service Projects Showcase was Big Success

On Thursday, January 9, 2020, our 8th graders presented their IB Community Service Projects from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

As an IB campus, all 8th graders are required to participate in a community service project of their own choosing. This year, students worked on their projects in their Individuals and Societies classes.

Students designed projects regarding a vast number of topics, including sickle cell anemia, cancer, mental health, and endangered animals, and conducted pet food drives, movie night, raffles, candy sales, toy drives, etc. to raise awareness and funds for their chosen cause. Over the course of the fall semester, our students raised over $1,300 for their chosen charities!

The showcase is the culminating event where students practice good communication skills and present their projects to parents, teachers, and the local community.

We thank everyone who came to the showcase in support of our students!
