Carnegie Senior Plays Piano Benefit in China
Katharine Yu (CVHS class of 2015), Kenneth Yu (Bellaire class of 2015), Ryan Quenemoen (incoming Carnegie Freshman) and Kerrigan Quenemoen (CVHS class of 2016) took. Kenneth and Kerrigan, along with their teachers Matthew Loudermilk and Katarina Loudermilk, were invited to do a series of charity concerts in China to raise money for blind Chinese orphans. Both of their families accompanied them and spent a week and half traveling around China performing at various venues. They went to Dalian, Gaizhou, Chuzhou and Beijing and performed in front of thousands, and everywhere they went, there were posters with their names and faces on them. They also went to the Great Wall, the Summer Palace and the Forbidden City. They went to Chuzhou University and spoke with an English class, so they could practice their English speaking skills (which were quite good), and they asked them about American culture and raved about how much they loved Katy Perry.
What an amazing cultural experience!
