CVHS Completes $77,000 EPA Grant

CVHS has completed its $77,000 EPA grant with the Student Conservation Association! Thanks to SCA and the EPA, Carnegie: introduced 640 students to local water quality and conservation; provided reusable water bottles to all students and staff; installed 4 water bottle filling stations; sent 100 students into the field for hands-on conservation experiences; incorporated more water quality and conservation curriculum into the classroom; built and displayed a mobile art installation (ART CAR!!) that focused on the total reduction of plastics in our school; and reduced our single-use plastics on campus. Community partners also included Galveston Bay Foundation, Bayou Preservation Association, and Meadows Center for Water and the Environment.

Thank you to Ms. Scott for leading the grant writing and all activities associated with the grant.
