Joshua Okolo, Carnegie Vanguard Senior, was recently awarded the Congressional Award Silver Medal, as well as the Congressional Award STEM Star Award. The Congressional Award is a recognition awarded based on continuous pursuit of goals in three categories: Personal Development, Public Service, Physical Fitness, and an in-depth Expedition/Exploration in a culture or practice foreign to the participant. The Silver Medal is awarded for pursuing these goals for at least 1 year, and the STEM Star award is given in recognition of completing STEM activities or goals.
