Before volunteering in the school or visiting the classroom, everyone must be registered with the HISD VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Program, which runs an annual background check. 

 

All volunteers must register online and pass an annual criminal background check before they can participate as a volunteer.Register online here, and create a user name and password.
