Participating students will become ambassadors at Challenge Early College HS, helping peers understand the importance of voting and civic engagement. This initiative aligns with government class curricula and offers leadership training, fun activities, and recognition. The Close-Up Foundation will present local government operations during the event, with an opportunity for a trip to Washington, DC later in the year.

About the Program:

This Youth Leadership initiative is designed to elevate student voice on civics and voter education. Ambassadors will serve their campus by planning and supporting events meant to encourage their peers to become engaged in the democratic process. High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors in good academic standing with an interest in voter education, civics, government, or related areas are eligible to apply.

For more information, permission slips, and to join, please complete this survey or contact Mr. Eduardo Elizondo, HISD Coordinator with Community Partnerships, at Eduardo.Elizondo@houstonisd.org.
