New PUPS Information and Next Steps

Summer Reading list

Our goal is for every student to spend quality time reading over the summer. We recommend all incoming 6th-grade students read at least five 200+ page books of their choosing this summer.  You can also choose books from the attached 2024 Lone Star Texas Reading List.

 

Elective Course Selection

Elective course selection for incoming 6th graders will open on Monday, April 22nd, by 4:00 pm. Please review the attached course selection documents to help you determine the best-fit electives for your student. Once you are ready to select your electives, you can complete the 6th-grade Elective Course Selection Google Form by clicking the link below.

Transportation

Students who reside two or more miles from their assigned campuses are eligible for transportation services at district-designated stops.  Please use the Google course selection form to indicate your transportation needs. A transportation request will be entered in Power School for all students who indicate they need transportation for the 24-25 school year. The HISD transportation department assigns routes and stops based on your home address in HISD Connect/Power School. The HISD transportation department will send route and stop information via email or phone in August.

 

PUP Camp

Pup Camp, exclusively for incoming sixth graders, is an orientation program to prepare our newest students to have a successful middle school transition from day one!

 

There are four sessions for Pup Camp:

9:00 am- 12:00 pm Thursday, July 25, 2024

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Thursday, July 25, 2024

9:00 am- 12:00 pm Friday, July 26, 2024

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Friday, July 26, 2024

Lanier Registration

All new incoming students must complete the Lanier enrollment process; please sign up for a time slot using the link below.  For questions regarding enrollment, please contact our registrar, Ms. Bonilla at cindy.bonilla@houstonisd.org.

School supplies for the 24-25 school year can be purchased online through our partner, 1st Day School Supplies. Please click the link below to order your supplies online.

Lanier Uniforms

The Lanier school uniform for the 2024-2025 school year is khaki or navy bottoms, a Lanier polo shirt Monday-Thursday, and a Lanier spirit shirt on Fridays.  Lanier polo shirts, spirit shirts, and outwear worn in the building must be purchased from the Lanier PTO store, which can be accessed using the link below. There are no specific polo colors required for each grade level.
