Loan officers, landlords, credit institutions, and other employers who need employment or income information on current or past HISD employees used to be able to get that information for free from HISD’s Human resources Department. Organizations must pay the automated service called The Work Number for that information.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The service is available by telephone or on the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All information is approved by HISD, so it is always accurate and up-to-date. The information is provided to those requesting it in minutes rather than days.

 

For maximum security and privacy, employees control the release of their income information. To authorize income verification, employees must obtain a Salary Key authorization code by visiting www.theworknumber.com/employee or by calling 1-800-367-5690.Whom to contact:

 

 

• Social-service agencies seeking employment verification must call HISD’s verification representative at 713-556-7356.
• All others must contact The Work Number at www.theworknumber.com or 1-800-367-5690. Anyone seeking HISD employment information must get the employee to provide his or her Social Security number and the HISD Employer Code (11516).
