Watch for warning signs of depression during COVID-19

depressed woman Everyone feels down sometimes, especially during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and the social distancing it requires. How do you know if it’s a passing thing or if you might be on the brink of a major depression?

If you’re concerned about depression, consider talking with your doctor online. They might ask questions about your symptoms and discuss any family history of depression or mental illness.

The signs of depression are not always easy to detect. Here are some questions that may help you determine if you are seriously depressed.

  • Do you feel sad almost every day?
  • Have you lost interest in your favorite activities?
  • Have you had a change in appetite or significant weight gain or loss?
  • Are you sleeping too much or unable to sleep?
  • Do you lack energy and motivation?
  • Do you feel hopeless, worthless or guilty almost every day?
  • Do you have problems with concentrating, making decisions or remembering?
  • Do you have recurring thoughts of death or suicide?
