Dr. Davis began his 29 years in education as a mathematics specialist at Chambers Elementary School in Alief ISD. He started his career in HISD in July 2010 as principal of Dowling Middle School (now Lawson Middle School) before becoming an SSO/assistant superintendent. He also previously served as a lead principal coach at Wheatley and Kashmere high schools and principal of Yates High School. He was named Region IV Elementary Principal of the Year in 2009 and National Distinguished Principal for Texas in 2010.
Davis has a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Rockford College in Illinois, a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of St. Thomas, and a doctorate in Education from the University of St. Thomas.
Kenneth Davis serves as Area Superintendent for the South area of the Houston Independent School District. Most recently, he served as HISD’s assistant superintendent of Equity and Outreach, in which he supervised the district’s Family and Community Engagement (FACE) department.
