The second-year principal cohort strengthens the knowledge and skills of second-year principals to continue their growth as new school leaders. The cohort is based on the Texas Principal Standards. Principals collaborate on differentiated professional learning topics critical to their success and seek opportunities to take leadership roles among peers and fortify professional networks.

 

 

The second-year principal cohort is a one-year program. 

 

 

The program is designed to develop Houston ISD educators to become highly effective school principals. The second-year cohort experience acknowledges that the challenges of leading a complex organization require support that extends beyond the first year in the new role. 

 

 

To qualify, candidates must be in the second year of the principalship.
