Red Ribbon Week
Next week, October 23rd-27th is Red Ribbon Week 2023! This year’s theme is Be Kind To Your Mind. Live Drug Free.™ Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the nation and is your opportunity to get the ongoing conversation started. Drugs alter our current brain development and hinders growth. They decrease levels of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins in the reward system of our brain. This can block our brain from naturally experiencing happiness. Be Kind To Your Mind. Live Drug Free.™ is about making positive choices to be happy and healthy! DID YOU KNOW? Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don’t; yet, only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. Please partner with us and discuss this message at home, at the dinner table, at family outings, and with friends and extended family.
